Job Description and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Be responsible for leading and executing design, engineering work on Control System, SIS/GDS and Instrumentation for various Gasification projects in Asia.

This position will function with a larger multi-disciplinary team is to provide knowledge of DCS/SIS/GDS technical specification, cybersecurity technical specification, technical bidder evaluation (TBE), material requisition (MR), vender data review, etc. 

 

Familiar with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD;

 

Flexible, able to adapt and learn new skills quickly;

Project and work activities will primarily be focused on gasification or downstream chemical unit.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

 

  1. Provide the plant control system proposal and estimate for project bidding.
  2. Provide the plant control system bidding and execution for project Basic Engineering Design (BED) and Detailed Engineering Design (DED).
  3. Support the technical clarification with control system supplier for requisition.
  4. Support DCS, SIS/GDS hardware and software configuration in project engineering.
  5. Coordination with operation team to make plant control system meet the AP related specification or requirement, especially for human machine interfaces (HMI) and alarm management system.
  6. Manage and supervise project activities related to controls and instruments performed by LDI’s, EPC’s and sub suppliers
  7. Review and validate all country codes and standards to ensure compliance
  8. Participate in operability reviews, HAZOP/LOPA, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT) for the automation system and similar control packages such as analyzers, environmental monitoring, etc.
  9. Participate in Cybersecurity reviews for the plant automation system with support from IT discipline.
  10. Proficiency in reading and interpreting PID’s in order to provide technical input relative to instrument and control design strategies. Develop plant control strategy during PFD and P&ID execution.
  11. Provide instrumentation and control technical support and functional guidance during startup and commissioning activities.
  12. Provide technical guidance, direction and over site relative to critical safety shutdown systems to ensure compliance with IEC 61511. Provide or review SIL verification and validation report for safety instrument system.
  13. Support developing Technical Risk statement (TRS), Control System Design Objectives (CSDO) and project control system execution strategy, get aligned with GFO and TM for project definition phase.
  14. Provide timely input to cross function detail design according to the work process map.
  15. Any other functional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. BS/MS or above in Process Automation or Controls Engineering
  2. More than 6 years of applicable work experience with process automation, instrumentation and controls and startup and commissioning activities.
  3. Experience in Gasification, Rectisol, Shift reaction and steam production is preferred.
  4. Proficiency in English, both written and oral communication
  5. Familiarity with automation systems (Honeywell and Siemens preferred) including safety instrumented systems (SIS).
  6. Must be able to demonstrate technical competence in instrumentation, analytical and controls, effective communication skills and a strong team player
  7. Must be self-motivated and solutions driven
