We are a part of the Core Azure Platform and focused on improving the end-to-end experience of our offerings so customer can run workloads easily and successfully in the cloud. We are growing our customer-obsessed engineering team to build new frameworks and services that allows us to create new workloads, build them as reference architectures, and perform continuous simulations of customer workloads on Azure. We leverage big data and machine learning to learn and predict customer usages and regressions. This enables customers to onboard to Azure faster, create new areas of investments and drive quality improvements into the core. Responsibilities

In this role you will help drive the team’s mission of improving the end-to-end experience of our offerings, so customers can run workloads easily and successfully in the cloud. We are looking for great leader who has a passion for customer success and help drive the development of scalable frameworks and services.

You will also:  

• Bring clarity, create energy, and drive results – you’ll set a vision, rally the team behind it, and deliver for our customers.  
• Demonstrate the Microsoft manager attributes of coach, model, and care with the engineers on your team, so they all learn, grow, and succeed.  
• Plan and prioritize work for your team, including collaborating with partner organizations.  
• Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers.  
• As a part owner of the core platform, provide support for the platform and our customers by being part of the platform operations (live site) and driving improvements to systems. 

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in commercial software development
• 4+ years' minimum experience in a leadership position managing enterprise platform, product, or services teams 
• Demonstrated ability to incubate and grow teams and work across geos to achieve successful outcomes.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software and/or systems level software with understanding of virtualization and interactions with OS components
• Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence
• Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
• Experience developing software hosted in Azure, AWS, or other similar Cloud platforms  
• Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices.
