Do you love the engineering challenges of designing and delivering cutting-edge, cloud-scale distributed systems technologies? Do you want to enable cloud-based, stately applications that are fault-tolerant, self-managing, and operated at massive scale? Azure Service Fabric, within Azure Compute, is a highly decentralized runtime that abstracts and solves some of the hardest distributed systems problems, like failure detection, leader election, and replicated state machines that are fundamental to building hyper-scale, reliable, and available systems. Service Fabric powers many critical first and third-party services, including Azure Control Plane experiences, and runs symmetrically on the cloud and on premises.
At the core of Service Fabric product is the runtime which comprises of core set of system services in a Service Fabric cluster that are at the heart of running microservices at scale. The system services responsibilities span multiple aspects:
Enabling high availability of the cluster and stateful services running on top by effectively coordinating with Azure Infrastructure for rolling out infrastructure updates.
At the top layer there is Service Fabric programming model and developer experience through which developers can write micro services leveraging the platform and drive inner loop development.
Lead a team of strong technical leads and engineers to own critical parts of the Service Fabric runtime, developer experience and programming model and drive roadmap in accordance with the growing needs of Azure infrastructure and customer needs. The space has opportunity to create tremendous impact for all core Azure services running on top of Service Fabric and making product innovations/ enhancements to make them successful. You will be contributing to the growth and management of the team, planning for the execution, contributing to technical designs, in addition to defining the vision for the space.
