This role is for an engineering leader for a user experience engineering team for Bing.  We are seeking someone excited about building world class, very high scale and low latency experiences that power the best of web sites competing with top industry players.  The work would extend across Bing search experiences, MSN as well as experiences across other Microsoft canvases.  This is a fast-moving team that is changing the industry and it’s a great time for an individual interested in being a key part of this journey to come on board.

Our Bing India team comprises of highly motivated engineers, product managers and data-scientists building end-to-end web-scale and enterprise-scale AI systems. Together we develop and deliver robust, state of art and scalable solutions across a rich set of scenarios through Bing.

We are looking for a talented, energetic, creative and passionate deep technical software engineer with experience in building, shipping high-quality, software products/services.

Responsibilities

• Obsession about customer experience
• Design, develop, test and deploy scalable and always available services which deliver delightful and finely-crafted user experiences on Bing.
• Collaborate with different teams across discipline to achieve the above.
• Analyze risks and compromises with various design choices
• Solve problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence
• Identify and fix or drive fixes for systemic issue.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years related experience and 4+ years as a manager
• 3-5+ years of software development experience in at least one of the following languages: C#, TypeScript, ReactJS, Redux, CSS, HTML - with current coding experience
• 3+ years of managing engineering teams
• Experience in extensible, reusable & modular UI designs
• Experience and passion for web performance, telemetry, accessibility, automation
• Experience developing and maintaining large scale distributed systems including high site availability, health monitoring, etc.
• Demonstrated passion for building great end-user experiences
• Ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and adopt solution from within the company or from the Open Source community.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, and ability to be adaptable and agile in development
• Experience driving efforts across product groups and business units.
• Good problem solving & debugging skills. Awareness of emerging design patterns and technologies in Web UI space
