Job Description:
Fidelity EIPS-Rep App Team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineering Lead interested in transforming support processes using DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principle and best practices. This role is a principal lead of the REP APP team leveraging in-depth skills working with various teams, business partners building and supporting internal applications on and off premises.
You will lead a team of support and engineers located locally and abroad while still providing direct, on-keyboard impact. You and your team will build, operate, and continuously improve the application services that our customer facing representatives use daily.
Responsibilities will include
Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
Build software and systems to manage infrastructure and customer-facing applications through automation
Partnering closely with development teams to design, build, deploy, support, and monitor new and existing services
Measuring and optimizing service performance and availability
Capacity planning and management
Exploring and evaluating new technologies and solutions to push our capabilities forward
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Track record of building and managing high-performance SRE teams
Experience with distributed systems in a production operations environment
Advanced experience with programming languages (GoLang, Python, Java, C++)
Experience with Powershell and Python scripting
Experience building and managing mission critical systems on top of modern cloud services
Deep systems and infrastructure knowledge
Track record of improving service reliability and efficiency
Experience with SRE metrics, goals, practices, principles and culture
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple business and technical teams
Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time with high quality
Experience managing technology environments stability and availability
Knowledge of ITIL practices (ITIL certification a plus)
Experience with Agile software development methodologies, tools (JIRA), delivery projects, and implementation
Experience with workflow design, data analysis, and requirements identification/specification
Experience with cloud-based technologies including SaaS solutions in the cloud and AWS/Azure
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated technologies
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Positive relationship management and facilitation skills
Production support experience with financial systems a plus
