The ECS team is looking for talented software developers with a passion for technology and innovative solutions to difficult engineering problems, who want to challenge and define the state-of-the-art in distributed systems. You will build new and enhance existing capabilities of the platform’s core that features highly scalable transactional index, active-active geo access via global namespace with strong consistency, fault tolerance around the globe, best-in-class storage efficiency, and more.

Responsibilities

• Interact with product management and senior leadership team in order to shape the product roadmap.

• Drive critical component design decisions across project teams.

• Drive design and implementation of product features and improvements, working with the team to coordinate development efforts.

• Drive the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies and improved customer experience.

• Actively mentor and train teammates.

• Develop highly complex, distributed components and services that constitute the Object Storage stack, with emphasis on quality and customer experience.

• Troubleshoot customer issues, support escalation engineers, and deliver rapid fixes to the field.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of distributed systems and large scale software architectures.

• Experience designing complex product technologies and initiatives from concept through release.

• Demonstrated ability to develop expertise in new technologies and deliver feature implementations across an integrated set of components, technologies, and teams.

• Excellent teamwork, communication, and coordination skills and the ability to resolve ambiguity in a quickly-changing environment.

• Solid programming background in Java, C#, or similar languages/technologies with a focus on networking, multithreading, and memory management.

• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.

• Strong software development skills.

• Experience with Linux.
