The Role
In this role on the Equity Common Engineering team you will produce high-quality, testable code for sophisticated products and efficiently deploy them onto AWS so they can be used by Asset Management professionals. We are looking for a skilled technical leader with strong design, development, communication, collaboration and influencing skills and a love for solving technology challenges to deliver business-critical features. We want you to be motivated by having the autonomy to lead, build and craft great solutions. This role can be located in Boston, Merrimack, Smithfield, Raleigh, or Westlake.
You will help design, build and support mission-critical enterprise software applications
You will define product solutions by working directly with business and product teams
You will provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers to help them grow in their careers
You will actively promote good engineering practices and standards
You will help navigate new technologies like cloud-based deployments to help deliver high value to our business
You will stay on top of the latest engineering trends and practices and bring them back to the team when appropriate
You will work with the team to continuously improve our craft of software engineering
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
8+ years of experience building various components of scalable enterprise applications
Front-end web development using UI frameworks like Angular/Ionic, JavaScript and TypeScript
Middle-tier service development with strong API design skills (Java or Groovy preferred)
Familiarity with running software on Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services
Excellent oral and written communication skills
With an innovative mindset, you can deliver quality solutions that are maintainable, extensible, reusable and performant
You have worked on an Agile Software delivery team and have experience with continuous integration tools and code versioning tools like GIT and Stash
You have experience writing automated unit, component, integration, and system tests using tools like Junit, Cucumber, and Fitnesse
You collaborate closely with your team, mentoring junior team members, analyzing problems, recommending solutions, enforcing standards and delivering technology results
Financial services experience is preferred
The Team
The Equity Reporting and Analytics team is part of the Common Research Technology product area within Asset Management, developing software applications that support the team and various Asset Management business users: Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts and Operations teams.
