Position Description:

Designs and develops next generation digital automation platforms, using Java/J2EE, AWS, Python, and Camunda (BPMN). Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives for business process automation and digitization. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, architecture, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

•           Participates in architecture and design discussions.

•           Defines and implements application level architecture.

•           Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

•           Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

•           Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

•           Performs unit, integration, and performance testing.

•           Responsible for performance and user acceptance testing readiness and support.

•           Designs and develops business continuity plan and disaster recovery plans for systems and platforms in case of downtime.

•           Delivers functional software — sprint-to-sprint and release-to-release — using Agile methodologies (Spotify).

•           Mentors and guides team members/peer on sprint deliveries, technical best practices, and standards.

•           Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

•           Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

•           Provides consultation and production support.

•           Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

•           Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

•           Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

•           Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

•           Advises senior management on technical strategy.

•           Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

•           Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience designing and developing 12 factor compliant Cloud (AWS) ready Java, Nodejs, Spring, and relational database applications in financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience designing and developing 12 factor compliant Cloud (AWS) ready Java, Nodejs, Spring, and relational database applications in financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing full-stack engineering to meet business requirements — designing and developing 12 factor compliant Cloud application, using BPMN, Java/J2EE, relational database (Oracle/Postgress), Spring framework, REST API, Python, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

DE designing and developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in Jenkins, using Git, Python, Shell scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, and Maven technologies; and deploying Cloud compliant applications to AWS services — EC2, RDS, EKS, Kinesis, Ehcache, and IAM.

DE participating and implementing all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) — participating in architecture and business discussions, delivering innovative solutions from release-to-release and sprint-to-sprint according to financial services standards, security requirements, and software development best practices according to Agile methodologies using Camunda BPM engine; and performing unit and integration testing, using Java, Fitness, Selenium, and Type-Script frameworks.

DE performing business and application architecture reviews for Camunda across business units; reviewing and performance tuning BPMN models for business units; providing production supporting for software during warranty periods; collaborating with product owners to build an itemized backlog; mentoring and coaching peers and junior team members in the SDLC and Camunda BPMN, AWS, Postgres, and Python.
