Builds a Quality Assurance (QA) automation framework to validate the integrity, quality, and performance of an enterprise data ingestion platform, using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Java, Python, Jira, SQL, and Agile methodology. Ensures projects and products meet system quality standards by planning, designing, automating, and executing appropriate test cases, using test automation and build tools – Selenium, Cucumber, Fitnesse, Git, Gradle, Maven, and Rest-Assured. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

•           Participates in architecture design teams.

•           Defines and implements application level architecture.

•           Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

•           Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

•           Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

•           Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

•           Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

•           Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

•           Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

•           Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

•           Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

•           Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

•           Advises senior management on technical strategy.

•           Mentors junior team members.

•           Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

•           Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience performing data pipeline testing of Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience performing data pipeline testing of Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing and designing feature files in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)Frameworks using Gherkin; automating and writing SQL queries for the testing of Snowflake Data Lake Platform, using Behave with Python, Snowflake-connector, Oracle, DB2, Postgres, and Hadoop; performing quality assurance database testing using SQL Developer; performing PL/SQL scripting for data mining and validation; and performing functional and regression testing for distributed applications according to Agile Methodologies, using Airflow on EC2 (AWS) and S3.

DE performing test automation and implementing Continuous Integration (CI) testing practices through Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines (CI/CD), using Git Stash, Jenkins, and Concourse pipeline; and developing Airflow BDD DAG workflows to schedule and run BDD framework through airflow interfaces on Amazon Web Services (AWS), using Python and AWS Cloud Formation Template (CFT).

DE automating RESTful API testing by developing automation scripts, using Rest-Assured, Maven, Junit, Cucumber framework, and GIT to validate JSON and XML responses with http response status codes according to Agile Methodologies.

DE creating Kafka producer and consumer to validate the functionality of Kafka based restful API services, using Cucumber framework integrated with Java, Splunk SDK, Junit, and Rest-Assured; and validating and transferring produced data to consumed data using Maven.
