Position Description:

Designs, builds, and maintains enterprise-wide applications, using Java/J2EE, Go, JavaScript, PL/SQL, Bash, Scala, and Mule ESB. Oversees data using Oracle Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). Interacts with business partners directly, and uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architectural design teams.

Defines and implements application-level architecture.

Participates in technical design, day-to-day development, automated testing, debugging, and production issue resolution.

Mentors junior team members in technical development, and Agile ceremonies. 

Applies advanced knowledge of concepts, theories, and practices of professional/technical discipline.

Prioritizes and delegates work based on strategic nature, importance, and urgency.

Provides technical leadership and direction by identifying technology solutions to daily issues, and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Recommends development methodologies and tools, and reviews and validates development and test plans

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple intra and inter team projects.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Leads processes and technology improvement initiatives with functional/divisional impact.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience developing Business Process Management (BPM) applications, APIs, and Event Driven Architectures in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience developing Business Process Management (BPM) applications, APIs, and Event Driven Architectures in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and building large-scale enterprise Web and back-office BPM applications in a distributed environment, using J2EE, Go, Scala, JavaScript, HTML, PL/SQL, and Bash; designing and developing Web services and APIs (SOAP and REST), using Spring MVC, Apache CXF, Struts, and Hibernate frameworks; and implementing enterprise application integrations, using Mule ESB and OAuth frameworks.

DE designing and developing relational database schemas, (using Oracle PL/SQL and MySQL), document-oriented database schemas (using MongoDB), and in-memory data store and caching (using Apache Ignite); supporting Web and back-office BPM/Workflow applications — SOAP, REST, B2B, HTML 5, JavaScript, XML, and JSON — hosted in IBM WebSphere and tc Server, and fronted by Oracle iPlanet, and Apache Web servers; and implementing automation testing, using SOAtest, Cucumber, Postman, and SoapUI.

DE designing and building highly scalable Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines according to Agile application development methodologies, using GIT, Ant, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory, and Nexus; addressing security vulnerabilities using secure code scan tools — Fortify, Veracode, and SonarQube; and identifying performance bottlenecks and providing solutions using Dynatrace.

DE designing and developing enterprise level batch job processing and data migrations, using CRON, Shell scripts, Oracle AQ, and PL/SQL stored procedures; and troubleshooting and resolving production incidents in a real-time environment with a high degree of accuracy, using Sumo Logic, Wireshark, Fiddler, Swagger, and PL/SQL Explain Plan.
