The Role

You will act as a Principal Software Engineer who will play a key role on a dynamic Agile-based Scrum team as a member of the Liquidity Risk Management (LRM) squad. You will work closely with the Squad Lead, Scrum Master, Systems Analyst, Quality Assurance, Architects and other Developers, to craft, build, test, and deliver the features that make up Fidelity’s LRM user experience. You will also be expected to provide guidance and mentoring to junior Developers within the wider Finance and Fund Oversight (FFO) technology chapter.

  • Experience collaborating in a team environment to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features
  • A passion for system analysis to provide our business partners with the best solution structure for them
  • A demonstrable understanding of the Agile software development methodology
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience with building Angular-based user interfaces
  • A working knowledge of Oracle Database software, specifically discovering database schemas and build/run SQL queries
  • A working knowledge of application deployment and runtime operations in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
  • Exposure to Java programming especially RESTful Web Services (Java, J2EE, Junit)
  • Familiarity with the following will be a plus:

  • CI/CD Pipelines
  • Udeploy
  • Maven
  • Tomcat
  • Stash
  • Springboot

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills coupled with a desire to learn and engage with peers in technical and design discussion
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners and business partners.

Liquidity Risk Management is a key application within Fidelity’s Asset Management portfolio of technology. In response to a general SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) recommendation, LRM insures that the portfolios Fidelity manages can respond quickly to significant pricing changes when market conditions become volatile.
