The Expertise You Have and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science /Maths similar technical subject area and or equivalent experience with 6 or more years of experience

Extensive experience in building Complex and Scalable J2EE Applications using spring framework, spring boot, kafka, Maven, GIT, Jenkins, Udeploy.

Extensive experience in different database platforms (e.g. Oracle), proficiency in SQL/ Pl-SQL

Familiarity technologies across AWS and Azure. Example AWS RDS, S3, Lambda, ML Technologies, Azure Storage and other cloud-based development methodologies / best-practices

Promote and cultivate an environment of innovation to deliver new product solutions to market which help improve scale and efficiency, business growth and investment performance

Senior Developer role who will be interacting with tech leads, development team and analysts to deliver business value by coordinating with Architects and Product owners and External vendor partners

Strong collaboration skills, be able to navigate organization structure

Good communication and problem-solving skills required

Proven experience in architectural patterns, micro-services, messaging/event driven frameworks and enterprise databases in an agile environment.

Should have worked in Diverse environments

Accountable for consistent delivery of functional software

Experience in software development practices and procedures

Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts

Responsible for supporting implementation of initiatives

Passionate about application development

Hands-on experience in crafting and developing RESTful Web Services with Java technologies.

Hands on experience in the technology stack – Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot

Knowledge of NoSQL database technologies, other non-relational data bases

Experience with cloud data warehousing and data lake solutions using Snowflake a plus

The Team

Fidelity's Workplace Investing Emerging Products – Student Debt chapter is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Lead Engineer) to play a key role in handling Student Debt data and application integration needs. This person will provide technical leadership and oversight, implement architecture recommendations, work with technical partners, business partners and assist developers and testers as needed. The role demands building applications which involves significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical project. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, hardworking, works in an agile environment.
