Job Description:
The Fidelity Asset Management Solutions (FAMS) BI Reporting team is looking for a Lead Reporting Engineer who would be responsible for creating Reporting solutions that provide insights into Fund Management through Holdings, Trades, Research and Risk data, among others.
This is an opportunity to work directly with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Analysts and Quants in developing Reporting solutions to support portfolio management, portfolio construction, trading, and risk oversight.
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Engineer for FAMS, your role is to be an expert in understanding our data, give it meaning and derive intelligence. You would work closely with both peers and business partners to rapidly deliver high quality solutions drawing insights, knowledge and wisdom from our data related to Holdings, Trades, Research and Risk among others. You will build highly optimized queries across large volumes of data for generation of dashboards, reports, visualizations, algorithms, and tools to solve business problems for users across the enterprise.

The role is based out of Smithfield-RI, Boston-MA, Merrimack-NH, Raleigh-NC, Westlake-TX.
The Experience and Skills You Bring
Experience developing in R (needed to support Quant Analyst reporting needs)
Excellent knowledge and experience working on Oracle and SQL concepts and processes, as this is the backbone of Reporting development being able to source data and build performance tune complex SQL
Experience working with VBA scripting using mid-tier services to source data for excel based reporting is a plus
Experience with report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role
Skills in end-to-end development of reports and interactive dashboards with impactful visualizations in BI Publisher and/or Tableau
Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfortable addressing others in all levels within the organization
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Information Systems, or equivalent technical field
Knowledge of Financial Services and Asset Management is a plus
Informatica/ETL experience is a plus
Self-motivated and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
Comfortable operating as a Lead Engineer on the team assisting and mentoring other Engineers as needed
Keen focus on process to improve efficiency, presenting innovative recommendations, and implementing resolutions across the team
Extensive experience analyzing large amounts of data in Oracle databases in addition to developing reporting solutions in R.
Able to set realistic expectations and prioritize within a dynamic and shifting environment
Able to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences
Curious and passionate about data, visualization and solving problems
Willing to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions
Eager to learn and deliver in a fast-paced environment
