Azure Cognitive Search is looking for a principal product manager who is passionate about expanding the possibilities of how Search and AI can empower developers in Azure to deliver next-generation experiences. In this role, you'll help us grow our business through partner and field enablement. As a technical expert in Azure Cognitive Search, you will work closely with sellers and key customers to help drive successful POC’s as well as to enable existing customers and partners to do more with Azure Cognitive Search and then take these learnings into our planning process to help define and drive numerous core capabilities of Cognitive Search.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with external customers, partners, and internal engineering teams.
  • Identify market trends, understand positioning, and influence the GTM approach.
  • Assist in defining the acceptance criteria of a product feature.
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate on personas.
  • Advocate for the customer across the organization to build products that delight.
  • Help resolve technical blocking issues and coordinate solutions across multiple technical teams.
  • Stay abreast of new technology capabilities and leverages knowledge in contributing to product solutions.
  • Manage incoming operational escalations, analyze issues, and implement long term solutions.
  • Work with UX team to prototype, test, and visualize product features.
  • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories through frequent and direct contact with customers and partners.

We are looking for a principal product manager with a proven technical background, experience defining and driving product vision, value proposition, and strategy. Strong collaboration skills, a passion for working with customers/partners internally and externally, and experience building/releasing and continuously improving products/services through data-driven methods are also important for this role.

Qualifications

Required:   

  • Experience with program/product management  
  • Experience with writing code for customer samples  
  • Experience with Elasticsearch or SOLR or Lucene, or other search technologies 

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with a wide range of database technologies 
  • Experience with Azure services 
  • Experience building cloud platforms 
  • Machine Learning, NLP and content ingestion experience 
  • Experience with Python and Jupyter Notebooks 
  • Experience defining and driving product vision, value proposition, and strategy 
  • Able to analyze and learn from market signals and customer feedback and apply learning to better improve our product design and solutions 
  • English proficiency 
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Open to feedback and effective at collaborating with a diverse group of people 
  • Demonstrate independence, bias for action, and strong tolerance for ambiguity with a drive towards clarity 
  • BS in computer science or engineering related field
