Job Description

At Amazon, we are working to create the most customer-centric company on Earth, and we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven leaders to help us continuously raise the bar. We are looking for a dynamic, customer-obsessed, and innovative Principal Product Manager-Tech (PPM-T) to join our Amazon Private Brands team. This PPM-T will own designing and building industry-leading supply chain capabilities, and will work with worldwide cross-functional stakeholders to build ground-up solutions that scale across Amazon Private Brands.

As a Principal Product Manager – Technical, you will partner with Private Brands Central team to invent, define, and deliver a technical solution which will increase visibility into the components and raw materials that make up our products. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You will think globally, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. In this role, you will be expected to bring clarity to complexity and ambiguity, probe assumptions, illuminate pitfalls, and foster a shared understanding. Ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders, flexibility and adaptability, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

This is a unique role that offers a great opportunity to build something new, work across strategic businesses, and interact with global stakeholders. This will be no easy feat as this requires alternating between big picture thinking and obsessing with the details, identifying risks, and being a true product owner.
Key responsibilities:
· You will define and evangelize a strategic product vision.
· You create a long-term roadmap with clear prioritization of feature roll-out and operational excellence improvement, develop requirements to enable business team strategies; and drive delivery against that roadmap.
· You will drive alignment among both business and technical stakeholders.
· You will work cross-functionally with technical and business teams across Amazon Private Brands to deliver on the product roadmap.
· You will partner with Amazon Private Brands’ business leads to standardize existing Amazon Private Brands processes, applying a forward-looking tech lens.
· You will create mechanisms for continuously monitoring success against the outcomes that matter most to our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree
· Exceptional written and verbal skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
· High attention to detail including precise and effective communication and documentation skills
· Extensive experience overseeing product roadmap strategy and definition
· Significant experience in product or program management, supply chain, technology and/or consulting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; MBA
· Track record of achievements. You’ve shipped cool stuff that has moved the needle on key business & customer metrics. You have a proven ability to make smart feature versus time-to-market trade-offs. You have demonstrated success building buy-in for an innovative and bold vision.
· Technical fluency. You have the ability to understand, discuss, and challenge architectural concepts, tradeoffs, and new opportunities with technical team members.
· Strong collaboration skills. You have a proven ability to work across functions and across marketplaces to influence senior leaders. You quickly earn the trust of people you work with.
· Excellent customer experience intuition. You obsess about customers and can translate customer needs into crisp, detailed product requirements. You are able to develop innovative product solutions that are grounded in a deep understanding of customer needs.
· Strong ownership and bias for action. One of your favorite things to do as a product manager is to launch, learn and iterate. You know what matters most to customers and can simplify product requirements to deliver benefits to customers quickly. Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
· Data-centric and analytical. You have experience leveraging your strong analytical skills and ability to dive deep to develop a nuanced understanding of your product and customers, back up assumptions, and create effective strategies. You also have a demonstrated ability to make high quality high impact decisions in the absence of data and figure out how to gather data (through experiments, tests, etc) to support your decisions.

Amazon is an equal opportunities employer. We believe passionately that employing a diverse workforce is central to our success. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills. We value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build. Protecting your privacy and the security of your data is a longstanding top priority for Amazon. Please consult our Privacy Notice to know more about how we collect, use and transfer the personal data of our candidates.

All offers are conditional on references, verification of the right to work in the UK, and successful background screening check. This will include previous employment verification, qualification verification (if relevant) and a relevant criminal check."
