We are the Silicon Graphics & Media (SIGMA) team in the Azure Edge + Platform organization. Our team’s portfolio spans media, graphics, AI, connectivity (Bluetooth, Camera, USB), remote desktop, print stacks in OS platform, and fast-growing services including Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Media Services, Universal Print, and PlayReady.  

We are hiring a Principal Group Engineering Manager to expand SIGMA’s engineering effort across a portfolio of new initiatives. You will have an opportunity to build a new engineering organization from ground up and lead multiple projects spanning across OS platform and Azure services. 

Responsibilities

• Hiring talent across many technology areas to quickly grow this new team with a diverse and inclusive culture 
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop overall vision and strategies  
• Coach and manage teams by driving clarity on objectives & key results 
• Mentor and drive engineering and operational excellence on the engineering teams  
• Drive planning, execution, and delivery of projects in sustainable and repeatable manner 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications  

• A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience in lieu of degree 
• 13+ years of software development experience 
• 5+ years of building and managing software engineering teams 
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with leadership team and partners 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in OS platforms and/or cloud services 
• Experience in building new engineering branches
• Familiarity with media, graphics, and connectivity technologies
