Within DMED, the Advertising Platforms team is responsible for creating and scaling innovative global advertising solutions by building mission-critical tools and workflows to support digital & linear ad sales, traffic, marketing and parts of broadcast operations. Job Summary:

Using the latest cloud database technologies, the Enterprise Data Architect will design multiple data initiatives applying innovative architecture that will eventually scale to the cloud. You will work to future-proof the Ad Sales Enterprise Data Warehouse to support BI/Analytics for the Linear Ad Sales Unified Platform. You will,

  • Oversee design of best-practice data models, database tables/views solutions to share and absorb linear and non-linear Ad Sales data from other departments. You will be involved in architecting/modeling the different stages of the Ad Sales data pipeline, including acquisition, integration, modeling, ODS, real time data marts and any data repository accessed by visualization tools.
  • Proactively advise, guide and warn (and assist in remediation) data modelers/architects, senior engineers, scrum teams and the COE to deliver data through an Agile philosophy.
  • Guarantee that all data from source to various targets (EDW, reporting tables, and semantic data layers) can easily be identified (lineage) and governed.
  • Guarantee that the all data development work is cataloged properly in a data cataloging tool before it is released to production and subsequently maintained.
  • Guarantee that all data models and relationship diagrams are properly documented and can be shared internally and externally, and most importantly, used.
  • Be an advocate for data integrity/automated validation and checks to guarantee the data is highly available and accurate (work with engineering and BI support guarantee data quality).

We are looking for a creative and talented individual who has mastered scalable platforms which scale at peta-byte level and extract value from both structured and unstructured real-time data. Specifically, we are looking for both a business data modeling and technology expert with proven experience on highly scalable and extensible data platform which enables collection, storage, modeling, and analysis of massive data sets from numerous channels.

You must be self-driven to continuously keep up to data with business and system data changes, innovate and deliver solutions for business-critical applications with little to no oversight from management team. You must also evangelize successful architecture and modeling techniques across the company and educate your team members in order to develop highly motivated and skilled data modelers and architects.

Responsibilities:

  • The Enterprise Data Architect will help architect & model the next generation of enterprise data warehouses (EDW) to deliver batch and real time data for analytics and reporting capabilities to the Linear Ad Sales business unit.
  • Lead the data design, development, implementation and maintenance of complex data systems and solutions; through expert knowledge, translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards
  • The Architect role should ensure that information and guidance on the Linear Ad Sales Data Warehouse is readily available to guarantee the best solution design for our products.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models (e.g.: Erwin, ERStudio) to support data analysis and business intelligence
  • Design and implement the different stages of the EDW data pipeline, using tools such as Qlik Replicate, Informatica, Oracle ExaCC Exadata, SAP Data Services, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle BigData Extension, and Kalido DIW
  • Mentor other data modelers and architects
  • Review design and code produced by other engineers.
  • Advocate and insist on the early involvement of data architecture group in all phases of development for both platform and visualization work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent job experience.
  • 10+ years as a Lead Data Modeler or Lead Data Engineer Architect.
  • 10+ years of experience working with SQL Server, Redshift, Aurora, NoSQL, Hadoop, Oracle and Snowflake databases or similar technologies
  • At least 10+ years development experience in a data warehousing/ Data Mart or big data environment
  • Experience with PL/SQL, SQL, database performance Tuning and optimization.
  • Experience with Python Programming language.
  • Experience with ETL and other data integration tools such as Informatica, SAP Data Services, Oracle GoldenGate, and Tidal Enterprise scheduler.
  • Experience working with VP/SVP levels to communicate technology direction
  • Ability to establish and maintain architecture standards across the team and platform.
  • Robust data analysis and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple distinct projects
  • Ability to manage working across different time zones effectively
  • Ability to anticipate technical challenges and develop contingency plans
  • Self-motivated independent thinker and collaborative team member
  • Implement Industry Standards /Best Practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Media Ad Sales in Linear & Digital experience preferred
  • Experience with ERStudio, ERWin, Alation, Collibra, Master Data Management Software
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Athena, Redshift, Kafka, Snowflake and other Cloud technologies
  • Experience managing team of 4-5 highly intelligent and focused modelers and architects.
