Overview
The Principal Developer eCommerce (SAP Hybris) is responsible for developing and enhancing in-house software applications or extensions by coding with a technical language to meet business requirements and business objectives. This can include taking technical specifications and developing an application or integration of data between applications, testing, as well as, completing the appropriate technical documentation. This role may also be responsible for delivering support to end users in the organization for specific code, including troubleshooting code.
Specialized Skills and Technologies
- Experience in Hybris core, Hybris Web Content Management, Solr, Java, J2EE, Apache Web server or equivalent, angular
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience in developing API/Web Services, REST and SOAP, Java Script, test automation, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Experience in working with Agile/Scrum
- Experience in cloud services such as Azure/AWS, including hands-on experience supporting cloud applications ensuring availability, scalability and performance
- Ability to automate systems through programming languages like (Go/Python), shell scripting, Java/C++
- Ability to triage issues in the application deployed in Unix/Linux, Docker Containers or any other cloud native services
- Hand-on experience in log and application performance monitoring solutions like Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, New Relic and Data dog etc.
- Ability to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using terraform/ Cloud Formation and understand network layers and protocols, DNS, Load balancer etc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve in a team leader capacity with large-scale Application Development projects / programs
- Lead and direct offshore application development programs
- Maintain a working knowledge of Software Code Development leading practices and serve as a thought leader to the SGWS organization
- Facilitate Code Development / Engineering training and education programs for the IT team
- Provide coaching and development to more junior Application Developers
- Oversee the work of 3rd party Development teams
- Drive the collection of required information to develop work scope around solutions to attain business requirements along with data needs as required
- Serve as liaison between Divisions/Functions and IT on projects and enhancements
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of work experience and education
- Seven (7)+ years in an application development or comparable experience
- Experience working with, and directing, third-party Application Development teams
- Experience leading and supporting teams with large-scale Application Development projects / programs
- Extensive experience across the entire project life cycle (SDLC) – be it implementing new software or enhancing existing functionality
- Experience with interfaces into and from platforms (using APIs, ESB, SAP PI etc.
- Participate in Agile teams
- Drive Behavior-Driven-Design (BDD) process
- Excellence in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
