Job Description:
As Principal Database Administrator – Web and Data Services, the role will be focused within Data Services servicing on and off premise installations across the full enterprise. This role is focused on hands-on development, delivery and support, which requires a combination of both strong technical and influencing skills. Collaboration across many technical support teams including cloud, engineering and architecture will provide opportunities for enhancements.
The Team
The Database Service Team, part of the Enterprise Cloud Computing Group, is responsible for the implementation and support of the enterprise database landscape. Our mission is to enable application teams to deploy and manage their database support through automation providing stable and highly available database systems.

12+ years of IT database experience with progressive growth to technical lead

Proven success supporting database systems in cloud providers
Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent
The Skills You Bring
Database lead with in-depth knowledge of supporting Oracle RAC databases in both on premise and cloud.
Ability to build and Deliver Cloud Infrastructure in AWS EC2, RDS and Azure using industry standard tools.
Deploy, configure and maintain Oracle and related database on Azure and AWS Cloud.
Strong expertise in Exadata and ZFS storage . Ability to work independently in both hardware and software aspects of Exadata setup and administration.
Expertise in Oracle RAC, backup and recovery strategies. Strong working knowledge in Commvault and other database backup/recovery solutions.
Oracle Enterprise Manager operational and engineering administration.
Expertise in backup & recovery and migration using RMAN, Datapump, Snap and Clones
Perform regular maintenance of the Oracle databases including backups, restores, data pump, archiving, and review of logs for errors or potential problems.
Experience building Oracle database using ASM / NSF on RAC/Non-RAC
Experience in all aspects of Cloud support and migration. AWS, Azure and OCI including configuring Monitoring tools like Data Dog, OEM and proactive detection.
Experience in shell scripting and keen eye to identify opportunity to automate operational tasks.
Experienced in Linux, AIX
Knowledge of Agile methodology including Scrum and Kanban. Ability to prioritize work and parallel tasking.
Strong experience in 24×7 production support and maintenance of high availability database systems with ability to manage large scale database projects.
Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting, Disaster Recovery and production stability
