We are looking for an analytical, creative, and curious data science and analytics leader to help shape the future of our products. Ideally you are passionate about designing and developing tools, metrics, and models to help drive innovation and experimentation.

This is an incredible opportunity to shape a culture of data within our org, hire and lead a data science and analytics team, and be key leader of the Teams Consumer, Skype, and GroupMe organization.  

Responsibilities

Key responsibility areas include:

• Lead Data Science and Analytics for our consumer business including Teams Consumer, Skype, and GroupMe
• Build, lead, and inspire an inclusive, diverse, healthy, and impactful team
• Hire, grow, and retain world class data science talent
• Provide technical leadership on designing, prototyping, implementing, and testing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive data science solutions
• Create and implement strong foundational frameworks for scalable experimentation
• Work closely with engineering to enhance and improve efficiency and state of the art experimentation platform
• Work closely with engineering to deliver scaled data science services directly to our customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
• Provide insight to technical and non-technical partners and senior management to support strategic decision-making and ongoing rhythm of business

Ideal candidates will have:

• Proven data science leadership capability
• Demonstrated ability to seek out and leverage data driven insights that foster continuous improvement
• Knowledge of relevant applications, tools, and big data solutions
• Level of comfort operating in a frequently changing and ambiguous landscape
• Strong written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and straightforward manner
• Strong partnership and collaboration skills across multiple disciplines and levels

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or comparable fields
• 10+ years of industry work experience including descriptive analytics, implementing statistical models, machine learning, and analysis (Prediction, Classification, Clustering, time series forecasting, regression models, etc.)
• Advanced working knowledge of data mining using SQL, ETL and Data Warehouses
• Exceptional written and verbal communication to educate and work with cross functional teams
• Previous experience in digital media, RM, marketing attribution, ecommerce, and web analytics at scale and building and reasoning over large scale identity graphs
• Expertise in end user privacy and compliance and evolving local and global consumer data privacy standards and practices
