Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leading a high performing, diverse, and intensely collaborative team of customer facing engineers in the Application Development domain.
  • Enabling the engineers to grow and develop their career.
  • Helping customers migrate and/or build applications throughout their Azure journey towards production and expanding their cloud footprint.
  • Collaborating and/or leading strategic virtual teams.
  • Partnering with Microsoft teams in the field to identify opportunities for the team to collaborate.
  • Partnering with various Azure Engineering subject matter experts to provide customer’s feedback and to scope and build customer facing content, modules, tools and proof of concepts.
  • Staying current on latest Azure/Cloud innovations in order to conduct experiments, drive product improvement, and act as an Azure subject matter trainer for other engineers.

Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a cloud technical architect, with a mix of architecture and technical lead roles.
  • Ability to lead, manage, build, and deliver customer business results through an engineering or professional services team.
  • Excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations; to lead projects and teams to motivate others.
  • Technical proficiency in Cloud Application Development domain across scenarios like app migration, modernization and greenfield development.
  • Understanding of Azure Services, or equivalent services on another public cloud, such as: App Service, API Management, Azure Functions, Messaging and IoT, Identity, Azure DevOps, Azure Spring Cloud, AKS, IoT, Azure AD, Azure Monitor and Application Insights. We don’t expect candidates to have knowledge of all the services in this list, we look for knowledge in only a few. More importantly, we are looking for the ability to gain knowledge.
