An exciting opportunity for a Pricing Analyst to join the Commercial & Pricing team has arrived.
The Commercial & Pricing team looks after pricing Savings & Investments products for the advised platform, the direct platform and bonds. We develop and use pricing models, produce trading MI and analytics, carry out development work and provide planning support.
As a Pricing Analyst you will be responsible for modelling deals for accounts and individual clients for Retail products. You’ll track the performance (sales and profitability) of Savings & Investment products against plan alongside adhoc trading MI, monitoring market activity, implementing new pricing tools/assumptions and assisting in the production of business cases for Retail developments.

The team is currently based in York and you will be required to go into the York office 1 – 2 days per week.
Day-to-day responsibilities of the role:
Working with the Distribution team to put terms in place for account and individual deals that will maximize a balance of volume and value
Understanding the financial and insurance risk inherent in products and assist in recommending appropriate risk levels in keeping with overall business risk management principles
Supporting the Head of Commercial and Pricing (Retail) and the Pricing Lead in deriving suitable pricing basis for the changes/new products and obtaining sign-off for these through the appropriate governance framework
Producing Trading MI that will help inform the business and drive actions to help us to exceed or meet plan
Establishing appropriate relationships across the business
Assisting other Retail teams with the production of business cases
Knowledge, skills & experience we are looking for:
Highly numerate and analytical with a capability to interpret data and establish alternatives and solutions to complex problems
Strong Excel skills
Good communication and influencing skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across teams
Good knowledge of life and pensions industry including financial regulation
Understanding of the risks faced by the function and the controls in place to manage & mitigate these risks
