WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are seeking strong candidates to fill the role of a Practice Area (PA) Project Manager as part of a team of 4-5 Project Managers that is currently being built up.In this role, you will support one or multiple Industry and Functional Practice Areas with the execution of projects that respond to an acute high-priority need, or make the Practice Areas fit for the future. In some projects you will act as an individual contributor, in others you will be part of a team and act as the project manager who drives the “PMO” (project mgt. office). Engagements will range from longer-term strategic to more operational projects. Examples include Designing and implementing new cross-PA collaboration models to jointly go to market with cross-industry or cross-functional products and offers Setting up an agile Practice organization and introducing new ways of working for the PA management teams Re-imagining the PA affiliation meetings model Program-manage the organization of a large cross-PA client event (, in the Climate topic space)Providing agenda and content management support for cross-PA events and (leadership) meetings Helping a new Sector, Topic or Practice Leader come on board and determine their strategic agenda by temporarily re-enforcing the existing management team

YOU'RE GOOD

 ATStructuring and leading complex strategic and operational projects with multiple parallel work streams that routinely require independent judgement, trade-offs or prioritization Translating high-level strategic ideas into actionable plans Leading project teams by facilitating with and across both project contributors and stakeholders to achieve outcomes Confidently and autonomously driving to results and keeping assignments on track, while at the same time displaying flexibility in the solutioning process Aligning diverse (and sometimes conflicting) stakeholder interests; handling ambiguous, complex situations with poise and diplomacy Driving innovation with creative, pragmatic and out-of-the box thinking Building relationships quickly and collaborating effectively, across diverse cultural and functional backgrounds, including in non-co-located settingsInfluencing stakeholders across seniority levels to build broad support for the project outcomeCommunicating with confidence Understanding what creates value for the Practices AND their internal and external stakeholders,, when providing agenda and content management support for cross-PA events and (leadership) meetings

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

)Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or business-related field8-10 years of relevant work experience Consulting experience at Project Leader (PL) level preferredStrong communication skills: ability to write clear, well-structured emails, memos and presentations and effectively lead/facilitate discussionsExcellent analytical skills and rigor (own output and delivered quality)Excellent Excel proficiency – able to manage large data sets, build models Excellent PowerPoint proficiencyExperience in working in international environmentsProven ability to successfully operate in a matrix organizationInterest in BCG Practices’ businessYOU'LL WORK WITHThe Practice Area Chief of Staff, the Global Practice Management (Senior) Directors, the Practice Area Leaders and their leadership/management teamsA network of experts and teams across BCG functions, including the Global Practice Management Support (GPMS) team of analysts and operations specialists 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Global Practices Management Support (GPMS) Team provides services to BCG's Practice Areas in all operational aspects and coordinates the overall Practice activities on behalf of the Practice Area Leaders and PA Global Practice Management Directors (GPMD) vis a vis the EC and OC, the Global Functions, and other leadership groups of the firm. Within the GPMS Team, the Central Practice Management Operations Team is driving cross-Practice activities and special projects of the Industry and Functional Practice Group Leaders, as well as broader PAL and GPMD groups
