Job Description

The Corporate Engineering Power Systems role has two main purposes:

1) Provide front end engineering support for North America based Projects and large plant power system projects in the area of power delivery, cogeneration, large utility power system expansions and general building electrical systems not directly related to the process. This person will become an integral part of a global network in advancing the power technology for today’s needs and identifying methodologies and technologies for tomorrow.

2) Find innovative improvements in power system technology that we can reapply to improve power system resiliency and cost, reduce construction and ongoing maintenance requirements, and solve technical challenges.  This person will become an innovation leader for power systems technology.

Qualification 1

Degree in Electrical Engineering as well as an interest in Power related technology and equipment systems ranging from Low Voltage to High Voltage (>36KV). This person should have passion for this type of technical work. ​--- Preference is for candidate to have working experience with power delivery equipment and systems.

Qualification 2

Candidates must be capable and willing to profitably apply their engineering expertise on various and multiple projects to meet the business need as regards to power systems. Preference is they should have strong construction experience.

Qualification 3

Working experience with low voltage substation application and installation is desired. Experience with medium voltage switchgear design and installation is also recommended. Experience supporting power systems projects is desirable. Experience with medium voltage motors, and motor protective relays is a plus but not required.

Qualification 4

Technical understanding and working experience with the various codes and regulations in North America is required. The ability to locate and use other county codes is needed as well as the ability to functionally understand their intent. The person will become familiar with local and regional standards regarding electrical safety codes EN 50110 and NFPA 70E.

Qualification 5

The ability to effectively communicate your knowledge and experience to others using verbal and/or written skills. This role requires the individual to make small and large group presentations on a frequent basis. Audience will include director and VP level managers. The candidate must know how to use or be willing to learn live distance learning tools.

Qualifications

  • Looking for entry-level candidates all the way up to 5+ years of experience. If entry or junior level, candidate will come in at the Manager (Band 1) level. Candidates with mid-senior level experience will come in at the Senior Manager (Band 2) level.
  • Bachelors and / or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working with circuit breakers, substations, transmission lines.
  • Comfortable going on-site to our West Chester site 2-3 days a week.
  • 20-25% business travel to sites across North America.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
