We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Portfolio Manager, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

You will principally be responsible for providing:

  • Leadership in ensuring and fostering connectivity for portfolio companies across HSBC’s global platform
  • Work closely with senior investment professionals on post-investment portfolio company management
  • Strategic support to portfolio companies to help drive and track internal engagement
  • Quantitative and Qualitative tracking of portfolio company performance
  • Engagement with third parties who may benefit portfolio companies

In this role, you will:

  • Systematic track of portfolio company financial performance
  • Identificate of financial KPI’s which will accurately reflect portfolio company performance and tracking of these on an ongoing basis
  • Provide support to portfolio companies to drive further internal engagement and product usage
  • Identificate and tracking of strategic KPI’s for portfolio companies
  • Systematic track of internal engagements of portfolio companies within HSBC
  • Ownership of portfolio valuation exercises, including Quarterly portfolio valuation reviews supported by Investment Analyst (s) as needed
 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Have broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast changing discipline
  • Required to have a comprehensive understanding of several value units / products / regions / legal entities, alongside an advanced understanding of the industry and the relative positioning of the HSBC's products and services.
  • Be proactive in developing ideas, continuously searching for improvements in techniques which add value to the business and has full responsibility for implementation.
  • Latitude to make decisions within the objectives of HSBC global business / global function overall. Little guidance is available and role holder is expected to formulate strategy following the objectives of the business.
  • Create business plans for own teams and expected to contribute into value unit / region / product / legal entity strategy.
  • Must possess a high level of sensitivity to the audience, be able to modify the beliefs and opinions of others, and negotiate with significant latitude for the final outcome.
  • Establish effective collaborative relations with external organisations is a critical part of the job.
