POSITION SUMMARY

The Portfolio Management Analytics Lead Analyst is responsible for continued alignment of portfolio data with cross-functional Service and Execution BPOs, both within PBM Operations and without, as well as key Technology partners. As a part of PBM Ops BPO Portfolio Management’s ultimate goal of managing an overarching list of portfolio priorities, the Portfolio Management Analytics Lead Analyst is responsible for supporting the PBM Operations Portfolio’s financial data management strategy by building a successful data quality audit process and appropriate performance metrics. This role will work with key stakeholders across the Enterprise to execute the vision for how financial data management can help guide our Business partners in achieving their financial targets and our Technology partners in managing capacity planning.

Reporting to the Portfolio Management Director, the Lead Analyst will focus on adhering to established standards and maintaining impeccable data management documentation. The role will also be responsible for executing data requests for complex projects across the Supply Chain, Sales and Regulated Markets portfolios.. This position will blend creativity, analytical and technical competencies, relentless problem solving, and business acumen to deliver solutions that will help our business stakeholders stay informed on the health of the portfolios.

OVERALL PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

Irrespective of assigned initiatives, the Lead Analyst is responsible for assisting with any efforts to obtain, quantify and organize supporting data within enterprise applications. This allows Portfolio Management to:

  • Provide leadership early visibility to any potential risks well ahead of those potential risks occurring dependent projects.
  • Provide near-real-time reporting to any impacted Business, Technology, Strategic Planning partners
  • Provide a self-serve repository for the most up-to-date information for updates between regular status updates

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Lead Analyst must be prepared to execute any request for portfolio data as pertains to any initiative sponsored by the Sales, Regulated Markets or Supply Chain business portfolios. This typically requires:

  • Perform data validation analysis including, high level data quality/audit checks, ensuring process/logic is appropriately documented and can be understood by others
  • Exercise creativity, foresight and judgment in conceiving and delivering initiatives.
  • Leverage automation workflow development tools (e.g., Alteryx, Polaris, Tableau) to ensure financial data management strategy is implemented  
  • Analyze results and present data in a consumable method using high-level overview, major takeaways, major questions, and next steps.
  • Partner with others on the PBM Operations BPO team to continuously improve data management procedures, including sponsoring new technology solutions.
  • Maintain analytics skillset through understanding new technologies, automation techniques, and the ability to execute and apply new skills to day-to-day work.
  • Overcoming widely varying challenges, obstacles and competing priorities
  • Develop methods for improving internal techniques and processes.
  • Champion the PBM Ops brand and enterprise methodologies (e.g. JIRA Align, AGILE)
  • Document any noted changes from Business Sponsors, BPOs, technology partners or other Portfolio leads
  • When appropriate, collaborate across multiple business groups to optimize both business and financial case for technology project delivery
  • Guide business sponsors on oversight, ownership and fiscal responsibility
  • Engage at a deep level in priority alignment with impacted BPOs and portfolios
  • Escalate issues, especially regarding prioritization, as soon as appropriate
  • Remain current on changes in enterprise methodology and enterprise applications
  • Create and maintain regular reporting to be made available to PBM Ops BPO, business leadership,  technology partners and any other key stakeholders as identified
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer with appropriate key stakeholders, where appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Health Informatics, Accounting, Public Health, Economics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years increasingly complex database and data management, preferably including SQL and/or Teradata.
  • Experience in health insurance payer analytics using healthcare data (claims, provider, member experience) preferred. Finance experience preferred.
  • Previous work applying a combination of analytical, technical and business acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience in challenging problems and driving outstanding results.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in complex matrix organizations, driving outstanding results.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills to work with various matrix partners, including but not limited to actuarial, medical economics, finance, accounting, and IT.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills to improve processes.

This role is WFH/FLEX, which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $68,100 - $113,500, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
