AES Clean Energy is looking for an Portfolio Management Analyst with a passion for the renewable or energy field. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and organize information, develop capabilities and improve processes.  The Portfolio Management Analyst will support the periodic operations reporting, compliance reporting, AP and revenue billing processes. This position will be based at AES CE’s offices in/near Louisville, CO or our Salt Lake City Headquarters.  Travel is expected to be minimal. This role is a key contributor to the effective Portfolio Management function related to the operation of a large fleet of renewable and energy storage projects across the United States, which ultimately ensures optimal financial and risk adjusted performance of the company’s rapidly growing fleet.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the energy billing process for the operating portfolio

  • Facilitate enhancements of the billing process

  • Process invoices (telecom, utilities, etc.) for prompt payment and accurate project accounting

  • Data entry, validation, and maintenance of DE Operation’s applications/tools

  • Own various compliance reporting such as EIA, FERC etc.

  • Supporting other AES CE groups (Accounting, Treasury, etc.) as needed

  • Use database information to extract reports on monthly operational, revenue and cost metrics and characterize material variances

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with and research of key project document requirements (PPAs, IAs, Lease, Finance, O&M, etc.)

  • Support invoicing and back-office management for AES CE

  • Assist in automation of processes related to data, billing and reporting

  • Support implementation and application of new digital tools

  • Support ad hoc portfolio analyses and process improvements

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Experience utilizing CRM, PMP, BI and ERP systems, accurately producing metrics and dashboards.

  • Thorough experience working in SAP a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to read basic financial statements and project documents.

  • Personal values consistent with those of the AES Corporation; Safety, Integrity, Excellence, Agility and Fun.

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office tools and cloud-based document management systems.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including an ability to maintain calm and effective exchanges with all parties.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Passion for renewable energy industry and the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree with concentration in business, finance, economics, and/or other quantitative field

Working Conditions:

  • Based in Salt Lake City, UT or Louisville, CO.

  • Travel will be required between offices and some travel to sites. Approximately 10% travel.

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience; competitive.
