Capita have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Controls Analyst (PMO) to join the Portfolio Controls team working on a major account. The successful applicant will play a key role, supporting the Controls Director in the governance of the projects and programmes delivering the governance and controls capability to the wider account. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team that is at the heart of change and delivery.
 

You will be an important part of the governance function, working closely with individual project managers to ensure that:

  • Portfolio progress is monitored, and reporting is completed.
  • Risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies are being managed. 
  • Resources are being utilised appropriately. 

Job Role

  • Development of project controls processes for programmes involving 3rd party suppliers
  • Implementation, management and control of cost control policies and processes for projects
  • Creation of project dashboards – earned value management, planned v actuals etc.
  • Liaising with and managing stakeholders and cross disciplinary teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure project delivery
  • Overseeing project delivery to ensure objectives are clearly defined and achieved
  • Implementing planning processes, policies and procedures
  • Creation of management reports and forecasts
  • Delivering project controls and earned value management expertise
  • Establishment and management of project change processes
  • Working with project managers, external contractors, department heads, project stakeholders and business functions to resolve project issues
  • Implementation of a PPM tool to create and maintain project schedules, track project progress at a Portfolio Level
  • Other reasonable responsibilities as an when required to support the wider Controls Function

Desired Skills & experience

  • Experience working within an Enterprise PMO at a Portfolio Level
  • Formal PMO Qualification – P3O, MOP or similar
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, MS Project and SharePoint skills are essential
  • Strong communicator (written and oral)
  • Independent thinker who can take initiative
