Job Description

The purpose of the programme or project officer is to improve the planning and delivery process by collecting and maintaining data in a consistent form.​

We have a great opportunity for PMO Specialists to join our Change and PMO Capability, within the Government Services Programme Delivery business unit in Capita.  Depending on experience, roles can vary from Leading PMOs on large-scale Transformation Programmes to managing specific PMO Services such Governance and Reporting or Risk and Issue Management.  As part of our Change and PMO Capability, you will champion the Capita standard tools (training will be provided on this) and work closely with Programme Delivery Teams to ensure the delivery of better outcomes for our clients.  

More broadly, you will have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement within the Capability, to career manage more junior members of the team and to get involved in a range of activities that all contribute to making GSPD a great place to work.  

We are looking for dynamic, self-starting individuals that can demonstrate impact and add value to our multi-skilled teams.  The programmes and projects we support typically include both operational and technical transformation, so experience of working as part of a wider business transformation project will be required. We often work in complex, multi-agency environments, so experience of working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver a project is highly desirable.  

 

Skills and Experience  

  • Relevant PMO experience in a similar position for a minimum period of 3 years 
  • Ability to demonstrate the application of PMO services in complex transformation programmes, with challenging deadlines and demanding clients. 

 

Requirements 

  

  • Ability to influence and engage teams to ensure the application of standard project and programme management frameworks and templates  

  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, using your own initiative and lateral thinking 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the project and programme lifecycle and PMO Services, including MS Project planning  

  • Good MS Excel / PowerPoint / Visio skills   

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
