The company is best known for helping to launch the careers of artists such as Jorja Smith, Billie Eilish, Mr Eazi and Stefflon Don.Platoon is seeking an experienced Music Production and Distribution Specialist to define and execute distribution across Platoon’s business. You will need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up to get things done but also have a strategic, long term view to systematise and streamline everything we do.This role is a unique opportunity to help Platoon’s efforts in an ever-evolving, critical area. As a player-coach you will work closely with artists, marketing and business teams in the day-to-day; to plan out releases, ensure they are set up correctly, and go live seamlessly. The ideal candidate will have the right combination of entrepreneurial hustle, experience working with artists and a focus on detail to ensure things run smoothly.

Key Qualifications

• Demonstrable music production experience for a reputable label, distributor or artist management company.
• You currently work with artists and management companies to plan the logistics of key releases.
• Solid experience in digital music distribution, including the systems and metadata required to power it.
• Deep knowledge of Apple, Spotify and YouTube product and metadata specs, and CMS’.
• Previous success in collaborating with engineering and product teams.
• Comfortable with data and driving results through meaningful metrics.
• Passion for contemporary Pop, African, Soul/RnB, Hip-Hop or Dance genres
• Team management experience is a strong plus.
• Skilled with Excel, Numbers, Tableau and/or similar analytical applications.

Description

You will:Oversee the onboarding of new artists to Platoon, ensuring they are welcomed, and become familiar with how to work with PlatoonConsult with Music and marketing teams to confirm and clarify release plans.Ensure clarity to lead-times, especially asset and metadata due dates.Ensure flawless delivery of Music and Music Videos to DSPs, licensors and TV channels.Manage operational relationships with distribution and downstream partners like PPL, Sound Exchange, MRC, OCC, MRI etc.Contribute towards Artist Support that puts artists needs first.Collaborate with key stakeholders (legal, tax, policy, support etc) to prepare new features for launch. Strategise with the wider Product & Business team to build the best platform for Artists.Oversee testing and bug reviews of new features on the Platoon platform.Identify continuous improvement opportunities, and boundary-pushing initiatives.
