The Role
The role is a key to improving how ASOS deliver software in a secure, efficient & cost-effective manner will require you to be an integral part of the development teams that you are working with. You should always be looking to improve your area, never settling for the status quo.
Through the Platform Lead and Principal Software Engineer you will be empowered to drive good DevOps practices with the teams that you support.
Payments Technology Platform
Would you like be involved in designing and developing the systems that handle payment processing at ASOS?
The Payments platform team are responsible for complex integrations with a wide variety of payments providers. In our team you’ll be working in an incredible depth of detail where you’ll fully understand the ins and outs of how the full payments lifecycle works.
We process 1000’s of transactions per minute accurately and securely. As part of our platform you’ll receive regular security training and opportunities to work on performance problems at serious scale.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure teams can easily self-serve the following:
Azure services
CI/CD pipelines
Coaching and mentoring engineering teams on subjects such as DevOps or use of Azure services
Working hands on with teams when required to support software delivery
Prototyping of new technologies and tools to improve how ASOS delivers software
Analyse CI/CD tooling and Azure resources and propose ways to further improve e.g. security or costs
Ensuring CI/CD governance and best practice is adhered to
Contribute to the engineering and DevOps communities at ASOS to drive forward better ways of working and efficient use of existing services
Operating shared infrastructure that supports ASOS’s systems
What we’re using
Microsoft Azure to host our service infrastructure across multiple regions
Azure DevOps to manage our Git repositories, work items and CI/CD pipelines
SRE practices to improve how we operate services
Infrastructure as code tools to ensure our infrastructure is defined in a declarative manner
What we’d like to see?
Knowledge of Azure services, networking and security
Windows & Linux based skill set
Containerization
Strong experience of CI/CD tools e.g. Azure Pipelines, Octopus Deploy, TeamCity
Configuration systems e.g. DSC, Ansible
Scripting skills e.g. PowerShell
Source control systems e.g. Git
