  • Identify, evaluate, and implement productivity projects that improve reliability, efficiency, costs, and/or capacity. Define work scope, generate project requests, work orders, MOC’s, etc. as required to execute these projects.
  • Prepare for and support efforts during hydrogen plant turnarounds, including project execution, catalyst changeouts, and investigation of inspection discoveries.
  • Monitor plant efficiency and proactively address variances in performance; including development and analysis of plant efficiency models and use of associated engineering tools.
  • Assist in the resolution of significant reliability and maintenance issues involving unusual corrosion, steam quality concerns, fouling of heat transfer surfaces, premature catalyst degradation, and other chronic equipment and performance problems as they arise.
  • As opportunities arise, the individual will be requested to provide support to other HyCO facilities within the US and Canada.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering strongly preferred; other disciplines will be considered based on experience.
  • 4 – 15 years of experience in an engineering role; operations engineering support and/or operations experience with troubleshooting experience are beneficial.
  • Experience with large scale hydrogen/syngas/carbon monoxide production or other high temperature process gas facility is desired.
  • Project development and execution experience is a plus.
  • A basic understanding of process engineering related disciplines such as process controls, process safety and equipment/plant design.
  • The ability to make balanced decisions weighing operability, reliability, capital costs, and operating costs.
  • The ability to foster an environment of open communication, innovation, trust, personal, and professional growth.
