Plant Manager – Southport, NC ADM Carbohydrate Solutions        This is a full time, exempt position Manages and oversees overall plant operations which may include safety, quality/food safety, environmental, finance, production, maintenance, production engineering, human resources and information systems. Makes recommendations to improve safety, quality, productivity and efficiency of operations. Familiar with a variety of industry best practices, concepts and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Including but not limited to:  Committed to and is a leader of plant’s safety programsDrive for continuous improvement across quality, environmental and operational aspects of the siteSupport regulatory programs so as to exceed compliance requirements of the law and customers.Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectationsResponsible for production output, product quality and on-time shippingImplement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salariesMaintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. Implements and maintains preventative and predictive maintenance programs.Develop and manage budgets for annual operational and capital expenditures.Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal resultsMonitor operations and trigger corrective actionsShare a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff, addressing employee issues when neededDevelop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assetsMaintain positive community relationship A Well Qualified Candidate Includes:  Understanding of programs such as OSHA, PSM, HAACP, FMSA, GMP, BRC/GMA-SAFEAbility to create accountability and lead by exampleStrong team building, decision-making and people management skillsExperience with batch wise production processes that are made to run in continuous systemsOperational understanding of systems including dry powders handling, fermentation processes, reaction kinetics, evaporization and crystallization operations, and automated packaging systems.Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity of predictive and preventative maintenance practicesKnowledge of food ingredient processes and their operationsProven managerial experienceMust possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization, including regulatory agencies and customers.BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of production management experienceRelocation assistance is available with this position.  This position offers a complete benefit package, including 401K/ESOP, pension, health, life and dental insurance.  ADM requires the successful completion of applicable pre-employment drug screen, medical questionnaire and a background check. |
