This position will require a results oriented professional to be responsible for developing and executing a variety of projects related to the Circular Economy Platform. Personnel in this role provide a high level of expertise in the molecular recycling efforts to solve problems, develop new processes, and troubleshoot. Projects will vary in scope from process improvements to identification and development of new process technology to support existing and new sustainability efforts. The ability to apply fundamental principles to solve problems, develop concepts, and scale-up projects to the commercial scale is needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute process development / improvement projects using modeling and experimental techniques in support of our sustainability efforts
• Manage a portfolio of projects in support of the circular economy platform
• Leverage expertise and fundamental knowledge to deliver breakthrough processes and/or products
• Communicate clearly project progress and accomplishments verbally and in writing
• Actively participate in multifunctional project teams to initiate and execute projects
• Apply engineering and scientific fundamentals to existing and new areas of interest
• Document discoveries in technical reports and invention disclosures
• Effectively communicate ideas and data with other Eastman groups
• Ability to work at the lab, pilot, and commercial scale
Education and/or Experience:
The candidate must possess:
• Ability to work in a team and contribute both as a team leader and as a team member
• Ability to work independently
• Initiative in looking for new process technology opportunities
• Previous project leadership in an industrial setting is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Broad interests and willingness to take on relatively undefined challenges
