Key Responsibilities
•Complete daily cleaning for primary and secondary housing areas within the PHNC in accordance with SOPs, Animal Welfare Act, and Mars Standards.
•Implement environmental enrichment, exercise, socialization, and grooming programs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
•Evaluate pet health (both mental and physical) for any veterinary and/or enrichment needs. Assisting the Health Care Team in treatment and research collections as needed.
•Perform animal behavior and obedience training following the Mars Standards. This includes implementing behavior modification plans, training for research activities, and support for rehoming.
• Responsible for following the Mars Quality Management Process (QMP).
• All other activities, tasks, project work, and responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications/Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Knowledge / Experience
Minimum 1-3 years of experience Interacting with cats or dogs
Experience with quality assurance
Experience with basic grooming and training preferred
Experience working in an animal facility or animal hospital is preferred
Knowledge of animal facility operations
Knowledge of animal health and management issues
Ability to lift 50lbs, work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
