About the job

Summary

Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure that every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy supply. We are playing a vital part in accelerating the transition to Net Zero and a carbon neutral energy system - a goal that everyone wants to achieve. Whatever your role, you’ll be playing your part in creating new energy solutions that are great for customers, and great for the environment.

We offer a diverse range of flexible working career opportunities: roles that are stimulating and rewarding, where you can get involved in ground-breaking work. And it’s important to us that we recruit from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds – bringing different perspectives and experiences to our work.

We now have a great opportunity for an experienced PA to take on a wide-ranging admin support role within our Networks Price Control team. This team sets the price controls that all energy network operators have to adhere to, so we play a vital role in ensuring a fair deal for energy consumers. You’ll provide PA support to two Deputy Directors as well as general admin support to the wider team. This will involve managing diaries to make the best use of directors’ time and helping them to prioritise and co-ordinate their workloads. You’ll help to organise and prepare for meetings, making sure they run to time and that participants have all the information and resources they need. You’ll also attend key meetings to record minutes and agreed actions.

As an experienced PA, you should already be accustomed to co-ordinating complex diaries and working closely with senior colleagues to maximise use of their time. This will also have included monitoring inboxes and supporting the production of high-quality reports and presentations. As you’d expect, excellent time management and organisational skills will be vital as well as a flexible and adaptable approach to managing conflicting priorities. Great communication skills (in writing and in person) are essential along with proficiency in MS Office.

Ofgem is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment is decided on the basis of open and fair competition, merit and business need.
