The role of Performance Test Engineer is accountable for creating and executing Load and Performance scenarios/scripts approach across the enterprise and works on projects of diverse scope and complexity. This role will also provide suggestions for the framework and approach across application product teams.
This role will be focused and hands-on in enterprise level Performance Test tools like, but not limited to Performance Center, LoadRunner, LoadRunner Enterprise and Neoload in both Cloud and On-Premise systems.

A successful candidate will provide Testing Services expertise related to Performance and load generation  testing. This role will also be required to provide guidance and training to other Test analysts/testers in the team. This position is located in Erlanger, KY.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that our users will be able to perform critical business transactions without interruptions
  • Work closely with Test Leads, Project Manager(s) and/or Solution Manager(s) to understand and document the testing requirements, both functional and non-functional.
  • Design and write test plans, scenarios, scripts and procedures based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Work across multiple protocols and systems to ensure overall system performance and application response
  • Enhance automation framework, create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts. Optimize performance of test execution through innovation.
  • Help define SLAs and ensure the System Under Test (SUT) is able to meet those SLAs while performing critical business transactions.
  • Perform test execution and analysis of performance test results
  • Perform endurance tests that ensure that system performance is at optimal level when used for long time under varying load
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and utilize performance test results to recommend infrastructure adjustments
  • Research and identify root causes of performance issues in partnership with multiple teams
  • Maintain a hands-on involvement in test execution, test automation and risk coverage analysis
  • Prepare POC on the feasibility of new applications being tested
  • Report any concerns on testing preparation, quality, or timelines to Test and Project Management
  • Complete post project defect analysis for possible improvements
  • Responsible for creative solution to testing challenges while still assuring proper testing
  • Work with GT and/or Business Leads to find Resources needed to successfully complete automated testing

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in Performance testing using tools like HPE/Micro Focus LoadRunner and/or Neotys Neoload
  • Must have SAP performance testing experience
  • Expert level knowledge of leveraging tools like New Relic, Splunk, Neoload, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git etc.
  • Advanced experience in Application Performance Monitoring and Application Performance Monitoring tools (NMON, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, CA Wily, Vsphere, etc.)  for detailed system level monitoring
  • Should have extensive experience with baseline, benchmark, load, stress, endurance, and capacity testing for performance
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates the ability to translate technical information into terminology understood at all levels of users, both verbally and in writing.
  • A self-motivated team player with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to analyze complex problems
  • A passion for software product quality
