About the role:

The Performance Analyst provides analysis and insight in the health and performance of Whitbread’s digital estate and uses this knowledge with the service delivery, engineering and architecture teams to help guide future development and enhancement of these platforms.

The role is a key part of the Digital Platform Team, working with the engineering, service and Platform Management teams to provide insights, analysis and reports covering the performance of the underlying platform, and its impact on both customers and operations.

The role is key to helping the team proactively manage the technology platforms to allow the delivery of efficient and effective solutions to help Whitbread develop our digital experience for our customers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Create, refine, implement, document and maintain monitoring policies and processes for successful monitoring of software and infrastructure.
• Identify themes of recurring issues and work with Engineering and Architecture to propose plans to remedy.
• Use analysis of monitoring data to identify potential improvement, features and enhancement opportunities for the Digital Platforms.
• Act as the Product Owner for the Monitoring processes and tools.
• Provide a robust platform for monitoring providing key data for teams to analyze platform performance
• Ensure alert thresholds are fit for purpose and do not generate false positives or spam alerts / events.
• Be the main point of contact for all monitoring communication ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of any monitoring developments.

What you’ll need:

• Strong knowledge of digital platform reporting practices and analytical tools acting as an expert for the department
  Robust understanding of application monitoring and performance tuning for Digital applications
• Experience of enterprise monitoring platforms – AppDynamics, Adobe Analytics, AWS, Akamai etc
• Understanding of cloud-based architectures, ideally based on AWS
• Experience of developing technology platforms, including technical architecture, estimation, planning, non-functional requirements and Continuous Improvement activities using modern agile techniques
