Job Description

What you will do:

  • Manage a team in the delivery of services in line with contracted performance targets and quality standards and to make every effort to achieve these whilst maintaining a clear understanding of the client’s requirements.
  • Manage a team in operational service delivery in accordance with legislation, policy conditions, business rules and procedures and within the legislative / regulatory framework.
  • Have responsibility for organising the incoming and outgoing work through use of the active management system and allocation of work to Administrators taking responsibility for setting the standards on performance and quality to achieve a first class service.  By the end of each day, finalise the allocation of work for all Administrators for the next working day.  During each day regularly review progress, and take any corrective steps,  to ensure all targets are met.
  • Ensure that the work flow is managed taking into consideration the requirements of the principle ‘pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly’   (TCF) and adherence to quality standards. 
  • Identify barriers to delivery and either engineer ways around them or refer to the Service Delivery Manager with an appropriate recommendation.
  • Act as a positive role model for staff exhibiting the level of enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism expected.
  • Maintain a regularly updated overview of the team covering the overall level of skills, knowledge and ability and understand staff capabilities to aid their development by agreeing training needs, organise coaching and mentoring to assist staff achieve their full potential.

What we're looking for:

  • Good knowledge of people management practices & procedures
  • Experience Manager of an administration team in a Pensions operations with strong technical skills
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, FCA principles and Treating Customers Fairly
  • Market, risk and business awareness
  • Working knowledge of services, procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of the risk, quality,  complaints breaches and procedure frameworks
  • Knowledge of resource planning
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Ability to coach others and to provide additional supervision for trainee overseers
