Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • To lead a team of Pensions Team Managers, to deliver first-class, high quality service.
  • Have responsibility for organising and allocation of the wider Operations incoming and outgoing work through planning and variance processes, taking responsibility for setting the standards on performance and quality to achieve a first-class service.
  • Through interpersonal skills and techniques of feedback, recognition, reward, appreciation and performance management, develop a highly motivational staff environment and visibly demonstrate appreciation for activity within the department at team and individual level.
  • Review the operations performance against objectives and hold regular review meetings with management and teams to review delivery against objectives, including individual staff performance to ensure all staff are adequately challenged and performance is measured consistently.
  • Hold regular performance review meetings with direct team members and handle with HR staff issues in a professional, timely manner, in accordance with Capita guidelines.
  • Ensure each team has an updated training schedule and that sufficient resource is provided to deliver training and wherever possible, link training and role expansion with observed performance using the latter as a reward mechanism.
  • Facilitate and attend documented regular meetings, encouraging proactive involvement from all participants and update staff and management on relevant issues.
  • Manage complaints in accordance with group policy with a positive attitude, addressing the true root cause and supporting effective corrective action in order to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Complete MI and reports for senior management as required.
  • Ensure that Operational team performance is managed in line with set and agreed disciplines and all activities associated are completed timely.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire your team
  • Demonstrable management experience of a large scale administration/back-office function with multiple teams and varied targets
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, able to write meaningful reports
  • Able to work across multiple work-streams in a management capacity
  • Office 365 proficient across all suites
  • Able to plan and prioritise conflicting deadlines and priorities
  • GCSE’s minimum in Maths and English Level C or above
