Aviva UK now have a thrilling opportunity for a Pension Pricing Manager to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC) to be working on large multimillion pound tenders as part of our market leading Workplace Savings and Retirement (WS&R) team and strategy.

The work done here will have a direct impact on Aviva’s operation and profitability. With the pension market expected to grow significantly in the coming years, WS&R is currently a leader in the industry with significant growth ambitions for the future. Lots of exciting work is happening in this part of the business and Pricing are often present at the table when key decisions are made.

This team is predominantly based in our York office, but Aviva uses "smart working" so we’re happy for this person to work flexibly (3 days a week) out of any of our UK offices (Bristol, London, Norwich, Perth, Sheffield, etc) with the occasional travel to the York office.

The role’s duties & responsibilities:

• Supporting a coherent end-to-end Pricing strategy and developing new/mixed product sets, cross-pricing of corporate benefits propositions

• Supporting our Pricing Actuaries in technical work

• Supporting and building relationships with our Corporate Distribution team to provide insight where required

• Delivering financial analysis and modelling in conjunction with our Finance Business Partner team

• Achieving P&L targets, ensuring effective governance and management in order to drive efficiency in line with growth value, volume and capital ambitions, supporting the delivery of financial targets through value-adding pricing strategies

• Supporting the development of market leading products/packages knowledge within the team

• Ensuring effective risk management processes and controls are in place at all times and appropriate measures are implemented

Skills & experiences required:

• Proven understanding of the pensions market, products and distributor landscape

• Commercial understanding of actuarial principles, formulae and methodologies

• Excellent knowledge of key software packages e.g. Excel, Prophet, Access, data analytics tools and VB coding

• Qualified, nearly qualified actuary or suitably qualified by commercial experience

• Evidence of strong planning skills, relationship management and organisation

• Track record of strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

• Customer-centric approach to business and market decisions with a focus on profitability

• A salary up to £47,000 depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications
