The Role

In Workplace Investing, the Pension Analyst blends deep Defined Benefit domain expertise with a passion for collaboration, innovation and client management. This role is primarily responsible for establishing a team environment by providing direct leadership, technical expertise and workflow management to associates assigned to their defined benefit clients serviced from a consultative perspective.

In addition, the Pension Analyst will support the strategic direction of the business, lead highly complex issues to resolution and work with domain professionals to solution client improvements and enhancements through corporate actions & change orders. The Pension Analyst will also engage with other lines of business on projects that impact other Defined Benefit products and services. The Team

The Pension Analyst plays an integral role in operational workflow, team leadership, and project management for client projects and internal initiatives. This role will serve as a team leader to Associate Analysts, Senior Pension Specialists, Pension Specialists and Transitional Processors assisting in their development, workflow management and operational quality assurance. They will typically support clients of moderate to high complexity. In addition to being extremely proficient analytically, they will assist Client Team Managers and Sr. Leaders with initiatives throughout the year, including but not limited to, improvement in execution, change control, and financial improvement.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree preferred

5-10+ years of defined benefit/pension plan administration experience

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated leadership ability with self-motivation and determination

Project/Client Management experience

You have critical thinking and problem-solving skills

You’re a leader with self-motivation and determination to succeed and ability to coach and mentor others

You MUST be technically inclined with application experience and aptitude including proficiency with various Defined Benefit Plan structures, complex calculations and data (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

You have excellent oral and written communication skills

You have a strong aptitude to balance, prioritize multiple projects and understanding of risk management and time management

You have an ability work within budgeted timeframes to maintain client profitability without sacrificing quality

Analyzing, leading and driving operational services and efficiencies to our clients and organization’s bottom line.

Providing leadership on ad hoc consulting projects that will require critical thinking and self-direction.

Providing information and advice on Plan documentation discrepancies and/or guidelines, e.g. data, provisional, or other plan/client issues.

Analyzing, reviewing, and guiding client teams to the resolution of escalated client or participant issues.

Serving as the day-to-day contact for issues to clients and participant for problem resolution, transaction issues, and data questions.

Serving as a team leader and technical guide on multiple client plan processes and procedures.

Working with internal team members to identify, analyze, and implement process and procedural changes based on new regulatory amendments and/or administrative improvements.

Play a significant role in implementation, corporate actions and other special projects in addition to the provision of ongoing services.

Serving as an essential role model and coach to entire operational team and assist in their development and skill set.
