Position Description


Oversees all payroll/timekeeping system functions, changes & processes. Assists department with queries and provides training and documentation for system changes. Analyzes processes and procedures for regulatory compliance and recommends improvements.



Job Responsibilities


  1. Produces and/or oversee internal and external reporting; ensures customer needs/requirements are met. Produces ad hoc reports for various departments for corporate requirements. Assists with the development and execution of SQR's and queries.
  2. Administrates, troubleshoots and oversees all tasks associated with Payroll systems functions including system application changes and tax upgrades; tests and documents changes resulting from system function changes; records and complies with Sarbanes Oxley audits; works closely with all supporting departments.
  3. Oversees year-end adjustments to ensure accurate reporting; manages year-end process both internally (payroll system) and externally (3rd party vendor) for accurate annual tax reporting.
  4. Keeps abreast of legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll.
  5. Monitors job processing to ensure run streams, scripts and executables perform desired functions to proper completion.
  6. Researches, reviews and analyzes current payroll and timekeeping processes for potential problems & improvements; recommends resolutions and implements processing changes as required for quality assurance, time saving value and internal controls; assures system and data integrity.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned


Job Skills Requirements


  • Thorough knowledge of payroll practices including payroll/timekeeping rules, regulations and payroll tax withholding laws
  • Analytical skills and ability to devise/solicit new approaches to solving problems and automating payroll processes
  • Ability to review and analyze basic technical and/or programmatic requirements, specifications and related documents
  • Good presentation, written and verbal communications skills for effective interaction with diverse groups
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects. Able to isolate and resolve problems within fixed time frames and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location


Education


Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements


  • Minimum of three years payroll or time and attendance experience, or related field
  • Experience in HRIS, payroll and timekeeping systems
