Job Description

Pre Covid our Payroll team was entirely Belfast based with offices in the city.  Today, however, all our roles are fully supported as home based, with those local to our Belfast office having that option too once we open back up. 

We are transforming our team and the way we work and so there is a real opportunity to bring your skills to bear and really contribute to something new and rather special. 

We are looking for a Payroll & Pensions Manager who is a natural people manager who has experience of being responsible for the end-to-end payroll process, with a passion for delivering first class service to our customers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring that the payroll cycle runs on time in line with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Managing and upskilling a team of administrators & payroll controllers
  • Ensuring that adequate controls are in place and continually monitored
  • Using your expert knowledge of the operational processes and legislative requirements of payroll and HR admin transactions
  • Ensuring that all pension records are maintained to comply with pension scheme regulations
  • Managing the production and submission of statutory returns to HMRC, NHS Pensions Agency and other Government bodies
  • Managing your teams workloads effectively
  • Encouraging continuous improvement to reduce costs and increase efficiency

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong Payroll and HR admin management
  • Previous experience of working within NHS/Health/Public Sector as a Payroll manager
  • Experience of working in a HR & Payroll shared service environment with a focus on KPIs and SLAs
  • Substantial team management experience, with a well developed ability to lead, coach & mentor team members
  • Thorough understanding in interpreting and implementing Payroll and/or Employment Law legislation
  • CIPP Qualified or working towards qualification (desirable)
