The Accounts Payable Payment Specialist will focus primarily on support of accounts payable payment activities. Specifically, this will involve successfully working with the invoice processing, Treasury, vendor maintenance and accounting team members on a daily basis to process and support payments related to outstanding invoices.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage Payments in the following activities:
•Ensure timely approval and submission of daily/weekly vendor payments
•Prepare and run special reports for forecasting purposes
•Continuously look for ways to improve the payment process and working capital initiatives
•Work with Information Systems personnel to complete testing on identified issue resolution and support of company initiatives
•Work with appropriate teams to integrate non-FSSC sites into the Shared Services model
•Optimize vendor payments per due date to minimize both paying late or paying early
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma/ GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent preferred.
• 3-5 years of prior experience in a related field
• 1-2 years of prior experience in payments
• Microsoft Office skills are required with particular emphasis on demonstrated proficiency in Excel
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills a must
• Must be able to deal with urgent requests and stressful situations, particularly at quarter and year ends
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ambitious, detail focused, results oriented self-starter
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization
• Ability to analyze data in order to identify issues, root-causes, and implement corrective actions
• Experience within ERP systems (particularly Oracle) is a plus
• Experience working in a Shared Service environment is a plus
• Knowledge of Accounting and Accounts Payable principles
