We Are Hiring

Patient care Technician - Oncology

Full Time Rotating - 2:00pm - 10:00pm

This is primarily a TRANSPORTER ROLE. Associate will take patient's to testing, discharge, bring patients from ED, etc. This job will require the ability to push beds throughout the hospital.

Unit Description: 4T is a 32-bed Congestive Heart Failure, Medical, Telemetry and Stroke Unit. The department patient population consists of patients admitted from Emergency, and patients transferred from ICU or medical surgical floors requiring telemetry monitoring. The unit utilizes a portable telemetry system with central monitoring at the nurses station. These patients require close monitoring and specific interventions for arrhythmias and treatment with vasoactive medication. Staff are ACLS trained, and proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and treatment. Nurses on the unit are NIHSS certified, and the unit functions as a Stroke Unit.

 

This is a collective bargaining agreement union position.

What You Will Do

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision in assigned area.

Aid with entry and exit of patients.

Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

Document necessary records.

Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. 

Education: 

High school graduate or equivalent is required.

Completion of, but not limited to, one or more of the following areas required:

Certified Nurse Assistant program, or one or more years hospital experience as a Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Associate program, Medical Office Assistant program or other direction care vocational training, Current Co-op Student, Nursing Student enrolled in an accredited RN program and has completed the Fundamentals of Nursing.

Work Experience: 

Previous experience in direct patient care required.

Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
