The Technical Information Solutions (TIS) team, within the Global Service Department of Americas Distribution Service & Marketing (ADSM), creates and delivers  technical  parts and service information  critical for the repair and service  of  Caterpillar products.  Not a part gets sold, nor a machine or engine repaired,  without  the use of the  information created, managed, and delivered by  this  global team. 
As a Parts Information Author on the EMP Authoring team, you will be responsible for electronically create and update new and revised parts information for Expanded mining products (EMP) to be delivered to dealers, customers, and internal users via print, Disconnected solutions or via the Service Information System (SIS) 2.0 & Next Gen SIS (NGS)
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for accuracy and completeness of assigned Parts & Graphic information by established deadlines.
Follows department standards and guidelines to prepare and compile parts information of varying degrees of complexity pending Engineering Change request and create or revise Parts & Graphic information.
Review discrepancy complaints from dealers and customers worldwide. Determines corrections needed using a variety of corporate systems including Engineering Data System, Engineering Job Records, etc.
Receives direction and incoming work from Product group for Expanded mining products
Works with business process partners for parts serviceability requirements.
Assists with training and mentoring for new/less experienced Authors.
Actively participates in team and role-based meetings
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of Parts Authoring work experience
Working Experience within Non-CAT Release (NCR) authoring system and Canvas software.
Knowledge on Expanded mining products (Hydraulic mining shovel, Rotary Drills and Electric rope shovel)
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering and parts information databases, including EDS, NPR, HVC.
Strong graphics visualization skills, including the ability to read/interpret engineering documents and prints.
Desired Skills:
High degree of accountability, initiative, planning and organization skills, with the ability to multi-task.
Strong Interpersonal skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Candidates must possess the strong communication skills.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
