Job Description

The Partner Marketing Manager role sits within the DPSS organization in UKI & responsible for landing the local partner co-sell motions aligned to the global and regional account plans, and for the local sales execution for sell-through in Consumer, SMB, Commercial and Education. 

The Partner Marketing Manager is a crucial role to help accelerate sales of devices with preinstalled Windows; the attach of Office, Teams and other Microsoft software + services, including Windows Server; comprised of standard, Data Center and Hybrid Cloud offerings and more.

The Partner Marketing Manager will own and run the core sales plays across Consumer, Commercial, SMB and Education in close partnership with the cross functional teams to drive balanced execution aligned to the Core and New business priorities.

The Partner Marketing Manager is expected to lead a world class partner management process and build trust with  the partner across their local executive leadership and management teams to accelerate local execution and win the trust of the partner

Responsibilities

Device Marketing Strategy (10%)

  • Collaborate with Regional Account Marketing Managers and channel executives in devices sales to build and validate the all-up strategy and get feedback on specific implications for their region and Device partner. Articulate Marketing strategy per partner to deliver on business strategy and ensure collaboration on the development of successful partner marketing execution plans

Marketing Account Planning (30%)

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and ensure that marketing investments across all Microsoft resources are considered to drive the highest efficiency in spend and focused on the biggest strategic components to drive outcomes
  • Engage frequently with EMEA Device Marketing, MNA regional marketing and device sales teams to share information, identify successes/challenges with execution, and reallocate budget as needed.
  • Submit all marketing plans using corporate guidance, tools and processes to ensure compliance and accountability
  • Share successes and best practices with counterparts within the Worldwide and regional marketing community
  • Analyze performance results against execution activities to identify causals, opportunities and action plans. Incorporate key insights from accounts to drive informed marketing action plans

 Marketing Operations Execution (40%)

  • Conduct planning reviews on marketing campaigns, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) before the campaign begins as well as throughout and post mortem ensuring alignment on expectations for data sharing and reviewing results for adjustment to plan performance
  • Ensure the enforcement of compliance rules for the Device Marketing and our respective peer teams, and drive the same through training and in practice including the use of appropriate tools for compliance and through partner communication
  • Adapt marketing materials created by WW Device Marketing and Windows Category/Marketing to use with partners to ensure Microsoft-specific messaging is emphasized in their campaigns
  • Focus discretionary investments to drive sell-through of devices and ensure that we are maximizing our total spend across all marketing fund types

Partner Relationships (20%)

  • Build strong relationship and provide consistent, predictable and timely information on Microsoft’s marketing strategy and programs – what Microsoft is doing and where we are going to enable the partner to participate in all relevant programs
  • Provide marketing leadership with partners, providing guidance on Microsoft branding and campaigns

Qualifications

  • Solid experience developing and driving partner and/or customer marketing or sales execution.
  • A background in commercial marketing and/or sales including SMB, Enterprise and indirect B2B marketing is preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills given complexity of data and data sources
  • Strong analytical skills using M365 applications (in particular Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to manage change and to operate effectively within aggressive timelines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively drive cross-group collaboration
  • Proactive collaborator in driving thought leadership across partners, segments, field teams and corporate teams
  • Deep marketing thought leadership and knowledge of effective marketing strategies, tactics and portfolio investments to maximize return on marketing investment
  • Ability to engage and influence at senior levels at Microsoft and partners
  • Possess a personal passion for marketing, partner relationship management, technology
