The Global Partner Solutions team mission is to build and sell intelligent cloud and intelligent edge solutions with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more. GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft. Building on the GPS mission, the Go-To-Market team mission is to develop the strategy and marketing approach for how we build, nurture, and engage the partner ecosystem to drive tech acceleration and customer outcomes.
The Partner Business & Development Lead (PB&D Lead) is a key strategy and leadership role within Microsoft’s Global Partner Solutions organization. This role is responsible for building and leading a strong team focused on driving the GTM strategy with Partners. This role is the functional leader of GPS GTM owns the GTM strategy for the Area, maintaining a 360-degree view of the business, being the connector between business and product groups to orchestrate the Area’s GTM strategy execution plan with key stakeholders.
As PB&D Lead, you will be responsible for leading the Go-To-Market business for the Area, driving business growth and building a strong partner ecosystem for the future. You will focus on delivering business outcomes and being a One-Microsoft Leader. You will own and champion the local GTM strategy, developing Partner-oriented strategic business direction, and landing the Solution Area and Industry priorities and supporting programs and investments in the Area. You will be tasked with defining and shaping the local Partner ecosystem, optimizing to help the Area take market share, and be the trusted advisor and #1 thought leader for the GPS GTM business, leading strategic discussions with Area LT and providing deep local insights to Area growth strategy.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own the GPS Go-To-Market strategy for the Area. Maintain a 360-degree view, being the connector between business and product groups to orchestrate the Area’s GTM strategy execution plan with key stakeholders.
  • Accelerate Area transformation and future growth to win and maximize the local market opportunity across the four Solution Areas and priority Industries.
  • Own and maintain the local business plan for the prioritized Partner ecosystem to deliver against the market opportunity, including shared accountability and attainment of Solution Area and Industry scorecard metrics.
  • Understand the market and competitive landscape by building comprehensive compete plans to drive share-gaining opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment between Area strategy and Partner Success Planning. Accelerate business outcomes using scalable Global engines.
  • Contribute to Area scorecard success through close management of performance measures, and share aggregated actionable insights, learnings and feedback locally, with peers, and with Corporate stakeholders.
  • Act as a connector between independent business groups and explore synergies with other areas of the business to land integrated motions (segments, audience and solutions) in market and operational excellence.
  • Seek opportunities to collaborate across Area teams, connecting like-activities, mutually beneficial scenarios, and inter-connected strategy to simplify and drive success.

  • Coach each directs weekly on planning & execution
  • Maintain strong X-org Executive influence and communication through monthly connections
  • Demonstrate partner obsession through quarterly contributions in area account and territory plannin
  • Develop deep knowledgeable of the MSFT partner ecosystem and programs by spending 2 hours or more per week on skilling and research

Qualifications

Experiences Required:

Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge.

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in partner management, product/channel marketing leadership, sales management, people management, business development, alliance management in the technology industry
  • Ability to lead and influence strategy and execution across and beyond the One Commercial Partner organization.
  • Extensive experience of managing virtual teams across functions and geographies.
  • Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork and cross-team alignment
  • Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills
  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences.
  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners.
  • Obsessed and committed to optimal partner and customer satisfaction
  • Bachelor degree required (Sales, Marketing, Business Operations); MBA desired.
