Job Purpose and Impact

The Packaging Productivity Manager will plan and coordinate all activities to execute the strategic implementation and maturity of production excellence processes and management systems with a focus on driving operational performance and value capture across packaging plants. In this role, you will manage a team in charge of key operational metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity, as well as the related practices, priorities and technologies with the strategy and goals defined by the business and functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Organize and maintain the deployment of production excellence processes within facilities to ensure successful and sustained process deployments and drive the improvement of key production excellence metrics to ensure successful and sustained outcomes.
  • Maintain ongoing business relationships for production excellence process improvement and ensure consistent process standards across the organization to drive the use of data and analytics to increase operational intelligence to drive sustainable production efficiency.
  • Execute operational and strategic plans throughout the plants and lead the deployment of value capture, portfolio and continuous improvement tools and align them to the portfolio of initiatives to the gaps in performance though routine monitoring and analysis of performance gaps.
  • Prioritize, support and deploy leading practices and ensure proper implementation to drive process confirmation efforts and align leading practice implementation to drive mature value creation processes with project pipelines and execution capacity to deliver expected productivity results.
  • Establish, implement and assess program effectiveness and overall business impact and track the performance to established goals and promote the long term sustainability of process improvement and best practices and assist operations managers with interpreting data and productivity metrics.
  • Prepare, administer and control the implementation of smart manufacturing and digital solutions in the production space, partnering collaboratively with smart manufacturing leads and process engineers to ensure alignment of tools and processes.
  • Foster a culture that designs, builds, operates and maintains plants that are operationally sound, safe and efficient by leveraging and championing leading operational practices and raises performance by monitoring key performance indicators of safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Green belt certification
  • Lean six sigma experience
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications and modeling tools
  • Project management experience
  • Operational excellence knowledge
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • PET plastic manufacturing experience
